UPSC CDS 2017 – Notification, Admit Card, Results & Latest Updates

UPSC CDS : The abbreviation for CDS is Combined Defence Service. The Union Public Service Commission Board which is located at New Delhi conducts these CDS Exam twice a year in order to recruit various aspirants across the country into the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Indian Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy. The UPSC Governing body releases notification conducts exams and recruits the aspirants across the country. These CDS Exam will be conducted by the UPSC to recruit the aspirants for the various posts in any of the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Indian Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy which secures and serves the country.

About UPSC Board:

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the largest recruiting agency in India. UPSC was established in the year 1926. Its main branch is located in New Delhi, India. The UPSC Recruitment Board consists of key authoritative who had completed Civil Services which was introduced to recruit the candidates or staff into the various departments, civil services and ministries in the India. The UPSC Board is responsible for the conduction of the exams and interviews for recruiting the well-trained Candidates for the various Posts in the Government of India and its associated offices. Details of UPSC CDS Exams:

  1. Frequency in conduction of Exams: Twice a year
  2. Level of Exam: Competitive Level
  3. Span of Exam: Across the Country
  4. Mode of Exam: Offline Mode which will be conducted in two sessions i.e Morning and Afternoon
  5. Exam Score Validity: 6 Months
  6. Negative Marking:  0.25
  7. Stages of Conduction of Exams: 3 Stages which will be termed as Offline Exam, Personality cum Psychometric tests, and Intelligence Interview.

The Exam will be conducted through Offline mode which will be Written Based Test and there will be 344 objective questions which will be based on English Language, Mathematics and General Knowledge, next stage of Recruitment process is Personality cum Psychometric tests and the last stage of Exam will be based on the aspirant’s skills for the posts.

The Candidates who completed Offline Exam must attend Personality cum Psychometric tests and the last stage is Intelligence Interview so that these 3 stages will be completed.

UPSC CDS EXAM Pattern for Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy:

  1. Elementary Maths – 100      Maximum Marks – 100        Duration of the Exam – 120 Minutes (2 Hours)
  2. General Ability – 120            Maximum Marks – 100         Duration of the Exam – 120 Minutes (2 Hours)
  3. English Language – 120       Maximum Marks – 100         Duration of the Exam – 120 Minutes (2 Hours)
  4. Total Questions– 340 MCQ’S (Multiple Choice Questions)
  5. Total Marks – 300 Marks

UPSC CDS EXAM Pattern for Officers’ Training Academy:

  1. General Ability – 120            Maximum Marks – 200          Duration of the Exam – 120 Minutes (2 Hours)
  2. English Language – 120       Maximum Marks – 200        Duration of the Exam – 120 Minutes (2 Hours)
  3. Total Questions – 240 MCQ’S (Multiple Choice Questions)
  4. Total Marks – 400 Marks

UPSC CDS EXAM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  1. The Candidate must complete their Degree in any discipline from a recognized University / State Board or its equivalent for Indian Military Academy (IMA). The Age must be between 20 to 24 Years for Indian Military Academy.
  2. The Candidate must complete their Engineering Degree in any discipline from a recognized University / State Board or its equivalent for Indian Naval Academy (INA). The Age must be between 20 to 24 Years for Indian Naval Academy.
  3. The Candidate must complete their Degree in any discipline from a recognized University / State Board with Physics and Mathematics at the 12th Class level or its equivalent OR Engineering Degree in any discipline from a recognized University / State Board or its equivalent for Air Force Academy (AFA). The Age must be between 20 to 24 Years for Air Force Academy.
  4. The Candidate must complete their Degree in any discipline from a recognized University / State Board or its equivalent for Officers Training Academy for Men (OTA-Men). The Age must be between 20 to 24 Years for Officers Training Academy for Men.
  5. The Candidate must complete their Degree in any discipline from a recognized University / State Board or its equivalent for Officers Training Academy for Women (OTA-Men). The Age must be between 20 to 24 Years for Officers Training Academy for Women.

UPSC CDS EXAM CUTOFF:

There will be Sectional Cutoff in the CDS Exams and this cutoff may differ from year to year based on various criteria like the candidates appear for the Exam and many criteria. There will be separate Cutoff for every section which is there in the entire recruitment process. The exam conducting body will release CDS cut off score of each stage at the time announcement of results. CDS 2017 cut off for the written test will be calculated out of a total mark of 400 for Officers Training Academy and 300 for Air Force, Naval and Military Academies. The Candidates must also score at qualifying marks in SSB.

UPSC CDS Admit Card 2017:

The UPSC Board will be going to release the CDS Exam 2017 admit card i.e Offline Exam at least two weeks before the exam. The CDS Exam Admit card 2017 will be available through online mode only. UPSC CDS 2017 EXAM RESULTS:

The results of CDS will be declared by UPSC Recruitment Board for the Offline Exam, Personality cum Psychometric tests and Intelligence Interview will be declared by the SSB. The CDS results for the offline exam will be going to declare and qualified candidates will appear for the further rounds of recruitment. The results of CDS offline exam will be released based on which the candidates will be called for further round i.e., Personality cum Psychometric tests, Intelligence Interview. The CDS final results will be declared for only those candidates who will score sectional as well as overall cut off score as per their category in stages of examination.
